Roy’s Peak, a mountain between Wanaka and Glendhu Bay, is a popular spot for tourists posing for Instagram photos. I wanted to get my own mind and set out on my own.

The trail is a bit boring. You walk fairly steeply up on a wide and zigzag road for some eight kilometers. After about seven Kilometers you will come to the well-known viewing point that you see on each photo.

Now there is also a photo of me on Roy’s Peak.

Technically it’s an easy walk. The path is wide and easily accessible. However, it is steep, the total rise is approximately 1,250 meters. I walked to the top in four hours, so I climbed around 300 meters per hour. The trail was simple, but my calves occasionally burned.

But the wonderful view over mountains and lakes at sunset was still worth it.

pixelamigo I am a pretty ordinary guy in the beginning of the second millennium. And so my identity is also determined by a lot of pixels. Here are a few of them.
