A Medicane has formed in the Mediterranean. I never knew such a thing existed until now. Medicanes are a kind of tropical storm in the Mediterranean, but rarely reach the strength of a weak hurricane. They usually develop in autumn, when cold air masses from the north move over the heated Mediterranean Sea.

After a stay on the islands of Santorini and Naxos, I am currently on Paros for a week. At the moment there are wind speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour. Single gusts can even reach 150 kilometres per hour. The ferry service has been partially suspended. If that’s the way it should be, I’ll just stay here longer, enjoy the quietness of the off-season and take some more pictures.

Storms don’t come to teach us painful lessons, rather they were meant to wash us clean.
